Multidisciplinary Teams

Within each indication, multidisciplinary teams are established for the benefit of cancer patients. Within the indication of the multidisciplinary team of the National Oncology Center, of which the Proton Therapy Center is a member, the possibility of participation of all experts in patient indication and treatment is set, as well as their participation in evaluation of treatment results, patient monitoring, and registry management.

Are you a doctor and wish to recommend a patient for proton treatment? You have several options.

  1. Call our Client Service at +420 222 999 081 and an experienced treatment coordinator will go through your request and recommend the next steps.
  2. Write an e-mail with your request (or upload the patient’s medical documentation) to our Client Service at mdt@ptc.cz. We will reply to you no later than the next working day.
  3. Fill in the online form: http://ptckon.mh370.cz/mam-zajem-o-konzultaci-pacienta/. We will reply to you within 24 hours.

Procedure for indicating patients for proton radiotherapy:

  1. Consideration of the indication by the treating specialist/MDT team/patient.
  2. Contacting PTC – sending personal identification + anamnesis + image documentation by ePACS (or just let our Client Service know where the examinations were performed and we will request the image documentation directly).
  3. The finding will be evaluated within 2 days by a PTC radiation oncologist. Then, the indicating doctor will receive an answer immediately.
  4. The patient is contacted by the treating specialist or by PTC to be invited for a consultation at PTC within 5 days.
  5. A KOC recommendation is required for approval of treatment by the health insurance company. This can be from the indicating clinic or can be assessed within the MDT NOC.
  6. If the legislative requirements (the KOC recommendations) are met, the treatment funding is immediately approved by the health insurance company.
